PokerStars Official FAQ:

-How do I get new powers and energy?

Powers are dealt out at the start of a tournament. Unlike poker cards, powers don’t change between hands. Instead, if you have fewer than the maximum number of powers in your hand (for example, if you’ve just played one), you will get one new power at the start of the next hand. You’ll keep getting one new power per hand as long as you’re below the maximum (currently 3).

Energy also regenerates between hands. All players in a tournament start with 15 energy and receive 2 more energy at the start of every hand, up to a maximum of 20.

-What’s the red shield around the board cards when someone goes all-in?

When a player goes all-in, all existing board cards are locked in place and can no longer be targeted or affected by other players’ powers.

-Can a player hold multiple copies of a power?

To prevent players from having powers they can’t use in combination together, players cannot normally be dealt copies of powers they already have. However, you can use Clone to create a second copy of a power you already have.

-Why can’t I see my Power Up hand histories in the hand replayer?

The hand replayer does not currently support the complex graphics introduced by Power Up, although you can use regular text hand histories to review Power Up hands.

-Is Power Up’s shuffle and power distribution fair and random?

Yes. The independently tested and certified random number generator (RNG) used for our other poker games is also used for Power Up. Click here to read more. https://www.pokerstars.eu/poker/rng/

– What happens if I disconnect from a Power Up tournament?

We use the same disconnection policy for Power Up as we do for our other poker tournaments. Visit our tournament rules page to learn more. https://www.pokerstars.eu/poker/tournaments/rules/

– What happens if my Power Up game gets stuck, crashes or is canceled due to a bug?

We will cancel the tournament; a malfunction voids all plays and pays. Once a tournament is canceled for any reason, we will use our normal tournament cancellation policy to determine payouts. Click here to learn more. https://www.pokerstars.eu/poker/tournaments/rules/cancellations/

– I found a bug or have some feedback on the game. What do I do?

As Power Up is currently in the alpha phase, we cannot guarantee a stable experience but we will always try to fix all bugs as quickly as we can. Please send any bug reports to [email protected]. If possible, please include your client logs (press the Help button in the lower right-hand corner of your PokerStars client, go to Log Files, press Save & Zip, then include the resulting file in your email).

We also welcome any and all feedback on the game. Please don’t hesitate to send in your thoughts, whether positive or negative.

– Do you intend to release the game for real money?

Yes. We don’t currently have a definitive time frame, but will keep you posted when we are closer to a real money launch date.

– Can I stream Power Up?

We ask that you not stream the game during the alpha phase while we’re still making stability improvements. We are working hard to get Power Up to a state where we’re comfortable with the game being streamed.

-What’s next?

We will continue to fix bugs and roll out the game to our other licenses and platforms as quickly as we can. We are also working on many improvements to the look and feel of Power Up – stay tuned for more!
